A native of the Seattle area, Scott Crownover has worked in the commercial horticulture industry for 37 years, the first 12 at Vaughan’s Seed Company, then 22 years at McHutchison Horticultural Distributors, and the last three at Skagit Horticulture as President/CEO. Crownover’s reputation in the industry for leadership, customer and vendor partnerships, and innovative thinking are what has driven his success at all three companies. Skagit Horticulture is #19 on Greenhouse Grower’s Top 100 Growers list for 2021. This diverse company provides finished ornamentals for both the Big Box and Independent Garden Center marketplace in all the Western U.S. A third division is focused on commercial agriculture, which includes hops, wine grapes, small fruits, and berries as well as being a major supplier of bare root roses and liners to Star Roses and Plants.
